About The Position

Alta Planning + Design seeks a Landscape Designer for our Atlanta location. Alta’s landscape architecture practice is dynamic and diverse, contributing to projects at a variety of scales with a people-centered approach to our work. We consider ourselves connectors of people and place, and we work directly with local communities on data-driven, engagement-centered designs. Requirements

  • Passion for Alta’s mission-driven work
  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in relevant field
  • Desire to collaborate and participate in multidisciplinary teams
  • Prior internship or other professional experience in transportation planning or design
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency- InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop in particular
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Basic knowledge of multimodal transportation planning practices and trail design standards
  • Effective oral, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Ability to lead, prepare, and contribute to the preparation of plans, reports, memos, and presentation materials
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to independently work on multiple projects and complete tasks at a high level of quality
  • Ability to participate in public outreach or conduct site visits

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of ArcGIS Pro
  • Digital rendering and hand sketching skills
  • 3-D Modelling and Animated Renderings of Models (Program knowledge could include City Engine, Rhino, Lumion and/or Sketchup)
  • Experience in Adobe After Effects a plus
  • Ability to prepare graphics and maps
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Consulting experience
  • Membership in a professional practice organization
  • Specific experience planning and designing multimodal transportation projects or trail design
