About The Position

Landscape Designer Build Something That Lasts At MasterScapes, we believe great landscapes do more than look good—they improve how people live, work, and experience the outdoors. Our purpose is simple: we cultivate beauty. We’re looking for a Landscape Designer who shares that mindset—someone who sees design as both an art and a responsibility. Someone who can take an idea, shape it into something real, and create spaces that are not only visually compelling, but practical, buildable, and built to last. What You’ll Do This role sits at the intersection of design, sales, and production. You’ll take concepts, conversations, and site conditions and turn them into clear, compelling designs that help clients say “yes” and help our teams deliver with confidence. In this role, you will: - Translate ideas into detailed 2D and 3D landscape designs that are both inspiring and executable - Design complete outdoor environments—including planting, hardscape, structures, and lighting - Partner closely with Sales and Account Managers to support proposals, presentations, and client decisions - Ensure designs are practical in the field by collaborating with production teams - Manage multiple active projects while maintaining speed, clarity, and quality - Continuously refine your craft—both creatively and technically What “Great” Looks Like in This Role Success in this role isn’t just about creating beautiful designs—it’s about creating designs that work. You’ll thrive here if you: - Create designs that are both visually strong and buildable in the real world - Understand plants deeply—how they perform in Texas, how they interact, and how they shape a space over time - Can explain why a design works—not just that it looks good - Balance creativity with client goals, budgets, and site realities - Deliver work on a schedule that helps our team move quickly without sacrificing professionalism Who You Are You’re someone who takes pride in your craft and enjoys turning ideas into reality. You likely: - Have formal training in landscape design, landscape architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience) - Bring strong working knowledge of design principles—layout, scale, texture, color, and balance - Are confident in your expertise and willing to guide or push back when something won’t work - Have a genuine interest in plant material and regional performance - Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - Take ownership of your work and manage your time without needing constant direction Tools & Experience Preferred experience includes: - CAD-based design tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) - Rendering tools (e.g., Lumion) - PDF tools (Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) - Designing full landscape plans including planting, hardscape, and lighting Why MasterScapes We’ve been building landscapes for over 30 years—but more importantly, we’ve been building a company people are proud to be part of. Our culture is grounded in five core values: Honesty. Innovation. Knowledge. Efficiency. Relationships. That shows up in how we: - Support each other across teams - Take ownership of our work - Continuously improve our craft - Deliver on what we promise You’ll be part of a team that values professionalism, accountability, and doing things the right way—without losing sight of the creativity that makes this work meaningful. What to Expect - Full-time schedule, primarily Monday–Friday - Occasional travel to DFW (typically a couple of times per month) - A fast-moving environment where your work directly impacts sales, client experience, and production success If This Sounds Like You… We’d love to see your work. Apply today and help us continue cultivating beautiful spaces that people are proud of!
