About The Position

The Landscape Design & Sales Associate is responsible for producing accurate and timely estimates for the installation division of the Company. The primary focus of the Estimator is estimating for landscape contracts and purchasing but the position may require hardscape elements of a project as well. The Estimator also ensures that estimates are produced on schedule to allow for thorough review and approval by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform job responsibilities that require physical endurance and the ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Professional and knowledgeable interaction with clients, vendors, and co-workers
  • Landscape drawing and specification review
  • Hardscape drawing and specification review
  • Landscape-related gardening and horticulture skills
  • 2+ years’ experience in landscape estimating, design, sales, or another related field
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must
  • ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Frequently required to drive for short to long distances within assigned territory
  • Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand, and walk
  • Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and can adjust focus
  • Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance
  • Occasionally works with mechanical objects and outside in all weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing Irrigation systems is a major plus
  • College degree in related field is a plus but not required
  • Credentialed landscape professional is a major plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Sales-focused Landscaping, Hardscaping, Fencing, Decks, Drainage Mitigation, Low Voltage Lighting, Plant Layout and Design, Maintenance Estimating
  • Maintaining current clients and expanding to new leads
  • Accurately bid projects, plan projects, execute projects
  • Create and document a targeted sales plan based on past work and future opportunities
  • Complete landscape material takeoffs and purchase material needed for jobsites
  • Produce all estimates accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide value-engineering options to reduce costs without sacrificing quality
  • Stay abreast of new products, product supply, and pricing
  • Support and participate in the development, implementation, and refinement of department processes and innovations
  • Project Launch Meetings
  • Prepare bid information and pertinent project info for awarded bids
  • Submittals, shop drawings, schedule, purchase orders, and labor budgets
  • Weekly Meetings with employees, management, sub-contractors
  • Review ongoing jobs and identify potential problems in real time
  • Offer up ideas to increase efficiency and profitability
  • Project Wrap-up Meetings
  • Review profit analysis
  • Closeouts and warranties as needed
  • Create and follow through with Purchase Orders, Job Estimates, Profit Analysis, and Invoices
  • Organize Electronic and Physical Files
  • Adhere to Company’s safety policy and ensure that the public and co-workers will be safe while performing job duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned
