About The Position

Miller Creek is seeking a Design Assistant Intern to support our Landscape Designer and project team. This internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate pursuing Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or a related field who wants hands-on experience in a real design/build environment. You’ll assist with design development, site documentation, estimating support, and field coordination while learning how landscape projects move from concept to completion.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or related program
Basic experience with landscape design software or CAD (training available)
Interest in plants, hardscapes, and outdoor construction
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks
Comfortable working outdoors in seasonal weather conditions

Responsibilities

Assist with landscape design development based on client needs and site conditions
Help create site plans, sketches, and basic 3D renderings using landscape design or CAD software
Support plant selection, hardscape materials, and layout concepts
Assist with site visits, measurements, and project documentation
Help prepare design presentations, proposals, and material lists
Support estimating with quantity takeoffs and pricing research
Work alongside Landscape Designers, Project Managers, and field crews
Observe project installation to better understand construction methods
