About The Position

SavATree's landscape technicians are responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring that landscapes are visually appealing, healthy, and environmentally sustainable. They use their knowledge of aesthetics to creatively design gardens, walkways, sitting areas, bridges, and other functional aspects of outdoor areas. Duties can include making sure plants grow well in their assigned area as well as cleaning up debris around yards and other areas. In this role you will have you will have the opportunity to work outside on beautiful properties in your community, You will apply your expertise to ensure the on-going health, beauty and well-being of each client’s landscape. This role will have seasonally shifting responsibilities, ensuring trucks, crews, and equipment are properly organized and trained throughout the year: Winter: Oversee the takedown, organization, and storage of all holiday décor projects. Spring: Prepare trucks, equipment, and shop for planting and landscape services. Summer: Manage the nursery and planting materials while assisting with landscape operations. Late Summer/Fall: Set up décor trucks, prepare tools for installs, and oversee quality holiday décor installations, including training new installers. Additional Duties: Travel to other branches within our district as needed to assist with projects or train with other crews. Requirements

  • A desire to grow, craves opportunity, loves problem solving and process improvement.
  • The ability to run various types of equipment, who enjoys heavy lifting in various weather conditions.
  • A Degree in Turf, Entomology, Plant Sciences, Horticulture, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in lawn care maintenance and turf application
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in landscape related field
  • Must be able to operate equipment safely.
  • The responsibility and independence to work autonomously.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills to understand and meet client needs.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Requires frequent standing, kneeling, walking, pulling, reaching, stooping and bending.
  • Requires walking primarily on uneven turf or rocky areas while on job sites.
  • May be exposed to moderate to loud work environments. These areas will require the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection.
  • Will be exposed to dust, dyes, grease, odors, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
  • Job requires ability to work with hand tools, small and large engine equipment, skid steers, and loaders.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires good manual dexterity.
  • Excellent stamina is required.
  • Work with and near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
  • Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work.

Nice To Haves

  • Horticulture/Arboriculture Trade Certification a bonus
  • Knowledge of plants, trees, and grasses in growing, pruning, and fertilizing shrubs, lawns, bushes, trees, and flowers
