The Budd Group is seeking a driven and dependable Landscape Construction Foreman to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader to oversee daily field operations in a high-visibility role in the Triad, NC area. We are looking for someone who has a true passion for landscaping and takes pride in building beautiful outdoor spaces. This role is ideal for a working supervisor who leads from the front—someone who enjoys working with their hands while guiding and motivating crews to deliver exceptional results. You will work closely with company leadership to execute complex plans, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and maintain high standards across every phase of the project.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in landscape construction or a related field leadership role. Must be able to step in and lead immediately.
  • A genuine passion for landscape construction and outdoor environments is required. Candidates must enjoy working with their hands while leading crews in the field.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and execute scaled drawings. Working knowledge of irrigation systems and plant materials required.
  • “Boots on the ground” mentality is required. Willingness to work alongside crews daily is essential and non-negotiable.
  • Contractor’s License or Irrigation License preferred but not required. Willingness to obtain certifications is highly valued.
  • Ability to travel within a 1.5-hour radius as projects expand into additional markets.
  • Proven ability to manage crews, maintain productivity, enforce safety standards, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Daily Field Operations: Oversee day-to-day on-site construction activities for large-scale landscape projects, beginning with a 4.5-acre mixed-use development site featuring walking trails, water features, and retail spaces.
  • Supervise and Motivate Crews: Lead, train, and motivate field crews ranging from 5–25 team members, ensuring productivity, safety, and alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
  • Blueprint & Plan Execution: Read and interpret blueprints and scaled drawings to ensure accurate layout, grading, and installation.
  • Irrigation & Plant Installation Oversight: Supervise irrigation system installations and oversee bed preparation, tilling, soil amendments, tree and shrub installation, and final detailing with precision and pride.
  • Scheduling & Material Coordination: Assist with job planning, material staging, and coordination to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Hands-On Leadership: Maintain a strong “boots on the ground” presence. Actively participate in manual labor—including digging, planting, grading, and system installs—while leading by example and setting the tone for workmanship and accountability.
