About The Position

Liberty Dogs™ is a premier Service Dog training program whose goal is to empower Veterans with disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilling lives - enhancing their well-being through the unconditional support that Liberty Service Dogs provide. Located on a 27-acre campus, it includes a training facility, dog housing, an administrative and multipurpose building, and accommodations for Veterans staying on campus to train with their Liberty Service Dogs. Position Summary: The Landscape Associate is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with a critical role on the Operations Team. This individual will ensure that the campus landscape is meticulously maintained to the highest standard. The role requires a highly detail-oriented, proactive professional with a strong background in landscape maintenance and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of their work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of previous work experience in landscape maintenance and/or landscape installation.
  • Proficient in office software including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Professional in appearance and behavior.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing physically demanding tasks including bending, climbing ladders, and extended periods of standing or walking.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions, year-round.
  • Experience using both hand tools (e.g., shovels, rakes, brooms, pruners, loppers, picks, hand saws) and power tools (e.g., chainsaws, sawzalls, snowblowers) safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Clean plant debris and trash.
  • Manually remove weeds.
  • Prune shrubs and trees.
  • Apply tree and shrub fertilizer.
  • Repair and replace overhead and drip irrigation.
  • Apply pre and post emergent herbicide.
  • Maintain hardscape features including rock mulch, pavers, dog pathways, steppingstones, artificial turf, and artificial hedges.
  • Assist with irrigation clock management.
  • Plant replacement material when needed.
  • Assist with special occasion planting.
  • Assist with seasonal activation and winterization of irrigation system.
  • Perform work in compliance with organizational standards and local, state, and federal laws.
  • Support seasonal operations, including snow removal and weather-related preparation or response.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
