About The Position

Mark Thomas is hiring Landscape Architecture Interns in Sacramento/Roseville! This 10‑week summer program gives current undergraduate and graduate students the chance to work on real projects, preparation of plans, drawings, exhibits, models, renderings, reports, and estimates. This opportunity will expose you to the processes required to provide landscape architectural support for various types of municipal projects. Summer interns can work up to 40 hours per week, and there’s an option to continue part-time (15–25 hours/week) during the school year, making this an excellent way to keep learning and growing while completing your studies. Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a landscape architecture degreed program
  • Possesses strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time to maximize efficiency
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Familiar with MS Office
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Possess a willingness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Prior LAUD Internship experience preferred
  • AutoCAD experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides QA/QC support by following appropriate procedures as outlined in the Mark Thomas QC manual or as instructed by an experienced landscape architect
  • References and understands design manuals, agency standards and procedures
  • Participates in field activities and project site to take measurements, collect data, photos, or document activities/observations
  • Provides support in the physical delivery of project materials to our clients and colleagues
  • Provides support in the reproduction of project materials such as cut sheets, spreadsheets, drawings & details for meetings/submittals
  • Conveys technical information utilizing clear verbal and written skills
  • References and understands design manuals, agency standards, and procedures
  • Demonstrates a growing knowledge of current technical or engineering software
  • Meets deadlines in a timely manner as determined by supervisor
