Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or related field from an ASLA accredited program
  • Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of Illinois
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience supporting engineers or working at an engineering firm
  • Thorough knowledge of Zones 4-5 plant material
  • Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Motivation to learn, grow, and progress within the landscape architecture career path

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of landscape architecture components for a variety of site and infrastructure projects
  • Prepare landscape plans, construction documents, specifications, quantities, and presentation graphics
  • Perform calculations and quantity takeoffs for landscape elements
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, architects, and subconsultants to ensure coordinated design
  • Assist in preparing plans using MicroStation, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, Geopak, and Microsoft Office
  • Participate in the QA/QC process and maintain organized project files
  • Maintain awareness of IDOT and Local Agency standards and incorporate them into design work
  • Communicate project updates with supervisors, teammates, and partners
  • Act as a representative for clients for landscape plan reviews
  • Occasionally attend field visits, subcontractor meetings, and client meetings
