About The Position

Marstel-Day, a premier environmental and sustainability consulting firm, is seeking entry- to senior-level landscape architects, landscape designers, or environmental designers to provide design and planning services for public and private sector projects. We focus on sustainable solutions that preserve and restore natural systems while creating vibrant spaces for healthy people and resilient communities. Projects may include ecosystem restoration; high-performance landscapes; landscape design; community planning and design; visioning; green infrastructure; conservation; parks and open space plans; support for master plans; sustainability and resilience planning; and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, environmental planning, sustainability/urban/regional planning, or a similar field from an accredited university or college; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Entry-level candidates must demonstrate excellent landscape architecture design, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Mid-level candidates require 3+ years of experience supporting landscape architecture, ecosystem restoration, park/open space planning, or related planning projects.
  • Senior-level candidates must demonstrate 6+ years of experience and project management experience.
  • Licensure or interest to obtain licensure is a plus.
  • Experience on Federal projects is a plus.
  • Located within the mid-Atlantic area and able to travel to project sites for meetings (short trips of 1-2 days/trip) in the greater Washington, DC, area is preferred.
  • Experience in ecosystem restoration projects is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and hand rendering is a significant plus.
  • Excellent GPA (college degree with a GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a flexible work environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity, paired with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
