About The Position

Toole Design Group in Columbus, OH is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Landscape Architect – Project Manager. At Toole Design, you'll team up with our engineers and urban designers across the Midwest, leading exciting landscape and urban design projects from day one. You’ll work hands-on with clients, communities, and coworkers to shape great public spaces, on projects from start to finish, from stakeholder outreach and design workshops to construction documents and administration. You'll often take the reins as Project Manager, guiding a passionate crew of designers, planners, and engineers to bring big ideas to life. Along the way, you’ll help grow our landscape architecture practice and strengthen its role in reimagining the public realm, especially our transportation networks.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in landscape architecture.
  • 5+ years of progressive career experience in landscape architecture.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in streetscape design, project programming, master planning, site design, and all design phases.
  • Experience in preparing construction documents.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCAD.
  • Strong project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure in OH and/or other Midwest States.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation.
  • Strong proficiency with hand and digital graphic techniques to communicate design ideas and produce illustrative graphics.
  • Exposure to construction management and methods.
  • Familiarity working with local public transportation agencies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead landscape architecture and urban design projects focused on public realm and active transportation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and urban designers to deliver quality work.
  • Manage projects from concept through final design, including stakeholder outreach and design workshops.
  • Prepare construction documents and oversee project administration.
  • Guide a team of designers, planners, and engineers in project execution.
  • Develop project staffing and schedules, monitor project budgets, and prepare cost estimates.
