About the position

AECOM is seeking a Landscape Architect or Designer for immediate employment in our Los Angeles studio. This is an opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary practice focused on high-performing landscapes that tackle climate change, interconnectivity and mobility, smart growth, ecological systems, and natural resources. Our studio designs a broad range of urban public realm projects including streetscapes, parks, ecological restoration, and green infrastructure. We are looking for a passionate designer who is energized by a collaborative design process that engages colleagues, clients, and the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the design process from concept through construction
  • Preparing design graphics and technical drawings
  • May coordinate design and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project
  • May assist in the training assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Landscape Architect, may independently perform technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets

Requirements

  • Landscape Architecture degree (BLA/BSLA/MLA) from an LAAB accredited institution or related field
  • 4 years of professional Landscape Architecture experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience of education

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to proactively solve challenges
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite, hand drawing
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling (Rhino3D)
  • Desire and ability to integrate seamlessly into both landscape architecture and multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and self-edit work
  • A commitment to design excellence and a passion for building a better world
  • Licensed Landscape Architect or actively pursuing licensure
  • LEED GA/AP, SITES AP, ENV SP, and/or DBIA credentials
  • Familiarity with Southern California and/or Pacific Northwest native and climate-appropriate plant communities
  • Experience with advanced modeling and analysis software (e.g. Revit, Grasshopper3D, ArcGIS)
  • Experience with MicroStation and DOT-related construction documentation
  • Experience with Design-Build project delivery
  • Experience with RFP/RFQ processes for public agencies, institutions, organizations, and private entities
