About The Position

The Lands Management Specialist position at the Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI) involves assisting in the management of approximately 3.4 million acres of State Trust Land. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • 0-2 years of progressive work experience in real estate, appraisal, acquisition, or title work, or 2-4 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Knowledge of legal land descriptions and statutory requirements governing grazing and agricultural leasing.
  • Understanding of real estate principles and basic accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in receiving, analyzing, researching, and processing grazing and agricultural leases.
  • Interpret legal documents and provide analysis of leasehold interests.
  • Research chain of title and determine acreage and rental fund distribution.
  • Calculate Animal Unit Months (AUMs) and prepare lease documents and files.
  • Collect excess rental and request new sublease agreements for terminating contracts.
  • Record and release financial security interests.
  • Provide administrative support for construction improvement applications.
  • Coordinate inspections with the Field Services Division.
  • Utilize and update internal database systems to manage leases and maintain records.
  • Assist in implementing divisional programs to reach goals and objectives.
  • Compose and track correspondence for the Board of Land Commissioners' consideration.
  • Provide technical assistance and explain departmental policy to the public regarding leasing and land management.
