Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer (Experienced or Lead) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking a Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Lead Level Engineers. Position Responsibilities: Experienced (Level 3) Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Supports the development, maintenance, or modification of system, component, and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction. Lead (Level 4) Lead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems to establish the system design. Lead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements. Lead the development, maintenance, or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation. Lead technical meetings and planning efforts, presenting technical information to wide range of audiences. Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Prioritize, delegate, and track performance and documentation of analyses of fluid systems/mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design. Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Train and coach others. Work under minimal direction. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with basic aerodynamics/fluid mechanics principles.
  • 1+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables.

Nice To Haves

  • Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
  • Experience performing hydraulic / fluid system analysis, preferably using MATLAB and/or Easy5 software
  • 3+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA
  • Experience producing technical reports and presentations
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Experience with Model Based Development tools
