PND Engineers is seeking a self-motivated, proactive individual to assist and train with our professional land surveyors in a survey technician or land-surveyor-in-training role. This is a great opportunity to launch a career that offers a nice mix of technical office work, based in Anchorage, and field survey work throughout Alaska. This is a full-time, year-round position. In this role you will: Assist with boundary surveys, GNSS control networks, as-built design/topographic surveys, bathymetry, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and aerial imagery. Perform computations and draft client deliverables in AutoCAD Civil3D. Utilize various software packages for drafting, spatial data analysis and adjustment, LiDAR data processing, and orthomosaic aerial imagery processing. Assist with planning and logistics for fieldwork. Perform property boundary research. Maintain tools and instruments used in the field. Travel for out-of-town work, sometimes with overnight stays. Worksites range from urban to remote settings. Typical project durations vary from three to ten days. Overall travel commitment is approximately 30% but varies from season to season.
