The Role: We are seeking a Office Land Surveyor I, II, or III to support our Survey & Mapping Team in Southern California . In this role, you will support survey and mapping projects across transportation, passenger rail, energy, and private development initiatives. Working in a collaborative office environment, you will assist with research, analysis, mapping, and technical deliverables while supporting project surveyors and field teams.

Requirements

  • 2-8+ years of land surveying experience or a BS in Geomatics or a related field
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in CADD software

Nice To Haves

  • LSIT certification
  • Experience with survey software such as Carlson, Trimble Business Center, MicroStation, or InRoads
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D
  • Public mapping experience including subdivision maps, parcel maps, records of survey, legal descriptions, and exhibits
  • Experience with topographic design mapping
  • Ability to read and interpret deeds and legal descriptions
  • Knowledge of boundary survey principles

Responsibilities

  • Support technical survey work alongside surveyors, CAD drafters, engineers, subcontractors, and agencies to prepare final drawings, submittals, and specifications
  • Assist with land surveying tasks including research and analysis, title reports, right-of-way engineering, ALTA surveys, design surveys, topographic mapping, photogrammetry, LiDAR processing, and boundary mapping
  • Organize and coordinate project tasks across a range of assignments requiring surveying, mapping, and construction knowledge
  • Draft technical exhibits and prepare final survey deliverables
  • Support preparation of RFIs, reports, schedules, and documentation
  • Conduct research and analysis of boundary elements for retracement surveys
  • Perform survey calculations, analysis, and field support calculations
  • Maintain project file systems and assist with managing digital survey records
  • Assist Project Surveyors with daily technical support and coordination tasks
  • Build an understanding of client needs and help support relationships with surveyors, engineers, public agencies, developers, architects, and other stakeholders
