Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Survey Crew Leader who will be responsible for leading a field survey crew in conducting geodetic surveys for various projects, including boundary, topographic, construction, and engineering land surveying. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating total stations, data collectors, GPS systems, and robotic instruments. This role requires gathering field survey data using conventional, robotic, and Global Positioning System (GPS) methods, as well as adjusting and operating surveying instruments such as prisms, total stations, and electronic distance-measuring equipment. The Survey Crew Leader will also be tasked with preparing field notes and drawings, performing complex survey calculations, and ensuring quality assurance and quality control checks on the work performed. In addition to technical skills, the Survey Crew Leader must demonstrate the ability to work independently or with a small crew, instructing and training team members in surveying and mapping methods, equipment usage, and field safety procedures. The role also involves the safe operation of vehicles such as ATVs and UTVs. A commitment to delivering excellent customer service is essential, as the quality of the finished work product reflects the firm's dedication to its clients. Candidates should possess a high school degree or equivalent, with a minimum of four years of work experience in the field as a surveyor and at least four years of experience in a leadership role. Prior experience in the consulting engineering and planning services industry is highly desirable. A clean driving record and a valid Florida driver's license are required, along with the ability to pass a USDOT driver check. The role may involve fieldwork and manual labor, so candidates must be physically capable of performing these tasks.
