About The Position

The Land Supervisor is responsible for supporting the land department by maintaining accurate land records, managing lease and contract documentation, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations related to oil and gas properties. This role serves as a central coordination point between land, legal, accounting, and operations teams to ensure proper tracking of mineral rights, leases, royalties, and agreements.  The Land Supervisor ensures that ownership records, contract obligations, and land documentation are properly maintained and accessible to support exploration, production, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of land administration experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience working with land management systems (BOLO, Quorum, LandWorks, P2, or similar).
  • Knowledge of oil and gas leases, mineral rights, and title documentation.
  • Strong organizational and document management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of land files including lease agreements, contracts, mineral ownership, assignments, amendments, title documents and operating agreements.
  • Organize and maintain both electronic and physical land records.
  • Track and monitor contractual obligations to ensure compliance with lease terms and operating agreements.
  • Assist in preparing lease assignments, amendments, ratifications, and other land documents.
  • Maintain working interest, net revenue interest, and royalty ownership records.
  • Assist in reviewing title opinions and title curative documents.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel and title attorneys on ownership matters.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to verify ownership information for revenue distribution.
  • Provide supporting documentation for division orders.
  • Assist with resolving ownership discrepancies.
  • Assist with preparation and filing of documents with state regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain documentation related to permits, unit agreements, and pooling declarations.
  • Provide land documentation support for acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Organize data rooms and assist with due diligence requests.
  • Compile ownership and lease data for asset evaluations.
  • Generate reports related to lease status, acreage positions, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain land database systems such as BOLO, or other land management software.
