The Land Specialist plays a vital role in supporting electric transmission, subâtransmission, and distribution projects from line route selection through damage claim settlement. This position is responsible for the acquisition and disposal of land and land rights needed by Otter Tail Power Company and works closely with internal teams and Customer Service Centers to support the design, construction, and maintenance of the electric distribution system. The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of real estate rights transfer and/or property management, an understanding of electric utility systems, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. This role requires computer proficiency, problemâsolving and research skills, and working knowledge of land surveys, legal descriptions, government operations, and GIS or electronic mapping tools. Travel throughout the company’s service territory is required, including occasional overnight stays and nonâtraditional work hours to support meetings with landowners, local governments, and commissionâdirected routing and siting activities. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
