Repsol is hiring a Land Services Manager within the Land Business Unit, to be based out of our office in The Woodlands, TX. Alternately, the role may be supported from a satellite office located in the Warrendale, PA region. The Land Services Manager leads land services functions supporting operated and non‑operated oil & gas assets across the United States. This role is accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and timely execution of land services activities, including division order administration, land records and lease management, and land operations support. In addition to operational excellence, the Land Services Manager plays a critical role in driving standardization, system optimization, and continuous improvement across land services processes to support scalable, compliant asset development. The role partners closely with Accounting, Legal, Asset teams, and external stakeholders to safeguard revenue accuracy, contractual compliance, and operational readiness throughout the asset lifecycle. The Land Services Manager supervises employees and contractors across Division Order, Land Administration, and Land Operations functions and serves as a key leader in developing a high‑performing, engaged land services organization. Success in this role means building a high‑performing land services organization that combines strong controls, trusted data, effective systems, and engaged people — enabling asset teams to move faster while protecting revenue, compliance, and relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Management, Business, Energy Management, or related field (experience and/or professional certifications considered in lieu of degree).
  • 15+ years of progressive oil & gas land experience, with emphasis on land services, division orders, and land administration.
  • Prior people leadership experience supervising employees and/or contractors.
  • Experience across multiple land services functions (DOI, lease administration, land operations support).
  • Strong understanding of operated and non‑operated asset requirements.
  • Proficiency with Quorum land systems; working knowledge of SAP PRA.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Accounting, Legal, and Asset teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with reporting or analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred.
  • Professional land certifications (e.g., CPL, RPL) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop land services professionals through clear accountability, coaching, and skills development.
  • Provide functional leadership across: Division Order administration Lease records and land administration Land operations and field support
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team culture aligned with company values, safety expectations, and continuous improvement.
  • Assess resourcing needs, identify skill gaps, and proactively plan for current and future workload demands.
  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and reconciliation of division of interest (DOI) and revenue decks for operated and non-operated assets.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation of lease terms, title opinions, curative documents, and ownership changes impacting royalty and working interest payments.
  • Partner with Revenue / Royalty Accounting to resolve suspense, ownership discrepancies, and payment issues.
  • Ensure division order processes support timely, accurate, and compliant revenue distribution.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of lease, contract, and ownership records within land systems.
  • Ensure timely administration of lease obligations, expirations, extensions, shut‑in payments, and other contractual requirements.
  • Support acquisitions, divestitures, and asset transitions by ensuring land data accuracy and documentation readiness.
  • Establish controls, audit practices, and documentation standards to support data quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide land services support to development activities, including drilling, completions, and production operations.
  • Coordinate with Land Operations, Asset teams, Legal, Regulatory, and external stakeholders.
  • Align land deliverables with development timelines and operational priorities.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex land services issues impacting asset performance.
  • Provide clear, decision‑ready reporting and insights (e.g., acreage, ownership, land status) to support asset leadership and strategic decision‑making.
  • Serve as a designated SOX control owner for land and division order–related controls.
  • Ensure controls are appropriately designed, documented, executed, and evidenced in accordance with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Upload, maintain, and manage SOX documentation and control evidence in Archer.
  • Review and validate SOX control submissions, certifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Oversee and certify Division Order Close activities, including ownership changes, DOI updates, and suspense resolution.
  • Review and approve land‑related payments (lease bonuses, rentals, shut‑ins) in accordance with delegated authority and SOX requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison with Accounting, Internal Audit, and Compliance teams for SOX activities, testing, and remediation.
  • Provide functional ownership and continuous improvement of land and accounting systems (e.g., Quorum, SAP PRA), including: Workflow optimization Data integrity and controls User adoption and training Support for system enhancements or future migrations
  • Develop reporting and metrics to monitor workload, performance, risk, and data quality.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews related to land services operations.
