What will you do in this role? The Land Project Engineer at Oakwood Homes is responsible for aspects of specific land development projects and performs both office and field functions. The position will be responsible for the following: Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist with construction schedule creation and maintenance • Drafting or subcontractor bid packages and bid tabulation • Preparing subcontractor bid packages and bid tabulation • Cost control and management of budgets • Phased quantity takeoffs and cost estimates • Subcontractor submittal management • Project coordination with agencies and utility providers Field Functions: • Proactive management and coordination of the project’s development work • On-time delivery of homes sites and including utilities, roads, landscaping and amenities • Closely manage subcontractors to control cost variances • Daily safety, quality and storm water control and management to ensure zero incidents • Participate in pre=construction and weekly meetings • Effectively obtain acceptance of improvements from agencies • Thoroughly understand plans and specifications • Proper sequencing of work to minimize overall durations, rework and conflicts • Build and maintain relationships with agencies and subcontractors • Manage onsite safety and adherence to all OSHA standards You Have: • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline • Minimum 1 year of work experience in a related field • Self-starter and results-oriented • Communicate effectively verbally and in written form • Exceptional organizational skills • Ability to multi-task and efficiently problem-solve • Strong understanding of the entire development process • Strengths in forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, and business planning • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Project • Self-motivated – proactively manage projects and prevent problems with minimal accountability controls • Tactful, professional demeanor with ability to interact effectively with managers, team members, vendors, and others • Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities, and have the ability to perform exceptionally under dynamic conditions and challenging deadlines You Might Also Have: • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. • Ability to maintain regular, punctual in person office attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly Benefits & Perks • Comprehensive benefits package includes Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA accounts, 401K, Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and EAP • Time Off benefits include Vacation, Sick, Holiday, Bereavement, Jury Duty, FMLA, refresh, floating holidays, and parental leave • Home purchase discount • Tuition Reimbursement • Expected Salary: $70,000-$80,000 - This position is eligible for additional performance incentives through quarterly bonus opportunities.
