We are seeking a highly motivated Land Planner to fill a full-time position with our firm in Boise. This position performs technical duties and supports tasks related to land use planning and development reviews. Must have 1+ years of land development experience, preferably in the following areas: Presentation and facilitation of projects in the public forum, including neighborhood meetings, public hearings, and agency meetings. Coordination with clients, design professionals and public agencies, specifically Planning & Zoning staff. Performing professional level technical work related to land use planning and zoning. Research, interpretation and application of zoning codes and comprehensive plans. Preparation and management of entitlement applications and processes. Preparation of preliminary development layouts and plans. Reading and understanding complex site plans, plats, and landscape plans. Researching and understanding infrastructure needs (i.e., utilities, roadways, etc.) and serviceability of projects. Perform independently as well as work cooperatively with architects, developers, engineers, surveyors, landscape architects, and other disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline with 1 year of related experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and people skills.
  • Strong computer skills and a thorough knowledge and/or ability to research local regulatory agency codes and procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task while focusing on attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team and/or independently.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
