Navigates projects and high-level issues that are politically sensitive, challenging, and time-sensitive requiring an extensive real estate, financial, business, legal, and/or related background. Provides support on high-visibility, fast paced, and challenging projects requiring strategic relationships with internal stakeholders as well as government agencies, property owners, and SRP customers. Applies experience, knowledge, and advanced skillsets to enable staff and department resources to achieve department and company objectives supporting SRP grid management and improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required.
  • In lieu of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 11 years may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors and Master's Degree is stronger preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to support the acquisition and divestment of real property interests to support SRP’s transmission projects.
  • Provide leadership to a team of real estate and right-of-way professionals working on high-visibility, fast-paced, challenging, and team-oriented assignments critical to project execution.
  • Lead negotiation efforts and strategies for the resolution of complex issues with diverse stakeholders that are bound by corporate policies and have significant financial, operational, political, and legal considerations.
  • Utilizes project and program management principles and experience, knowledge, and skillsets to assist leadership and staff to prioritize, communicate, and balance competing interests to achieve success on complex, long-duration projects.
  • Oversees project cost estimates, annual budget process, forecasting and reporting efforts, and cost recovery for customer required network upgrades.
  • Substantive interaction and consultation with internal and external legal counsel to develop and interpret legal agreements, support condemnation proceedings, and resolve disputes.
  • Represents SRP at legal proceedings that may include depositions, court hearings, expert witness testimony, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Oversees and reviews due diligence process and deliverables necessary for siting and acquiring real property interests.
  • Presents recommendations to the SRP Board of Directors and, Committees, internal clients, and external customers.
