About The Position

Atlantic Builders is an award-winning, privately owned regional builder located in Fredericksburg, VA. We are accepting applications for summer internships in our Land Development Department. The Land Department Intern provides support across the acquisition and development areas of the department, assisting with administrative and operational tasks under supervision. Key responsibilities include maintaining project documentation, tracking escrow deposits, assisting with permit applications, and helping draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The intern will gain hands-on experience in land development processes while reporting to the Land Operations Manager/Land Coordinator.

Requirements

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a 4 year college majoring in construction, real estate, marketing, or business-related degree.
• Internship will run from May - August timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Land Operations team in drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Support the scheduling and tracking of escrow deposits and releases under supervision.
• Help maintain and organize filing systems and project documentation.
• Assist with obtaining permits (e.g., demolition, well abandonment) by preparing applications and coordinating required documents.
• Shadow and learn from the Land Development Manager, and other team members, through weekly training and observation sessions.
• Provide general administrative support to the Land Department as needed.
• Assist with other duties as assigned, tailored to the intern’s areas of interest and professional development objectives.
