About The Position

Mungo Homes has a need for an Engineer on our Land Development team in the Columbia, SC market! This position is responsible for quality control regarding the grading and drainage of fully developed residential lots. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Sketch Plans Review sketch plans for compatibility with product. Construction Plan Review Review and evaluate site construction plans for internal and external development. Attend Land Development meetings with Design Engineers to assist the Land Team with managing the engineering design of all subdivisions. Assist the Land Team with the resolution of issues with all developed lots through communication and coordination with design engineers, external developers, contractors, utilities, and government employees. Review all developed project cost estimates for accuracy. Earthwork: Check, compare, and reconcile design engineer and contractor earthwork calculations. Review and evaluate site construction plans for internal and external development. Provide design engineers with all comments and suggested plan revisions and follow-up to confirm that changes have been made. Prepare cost estimates for land development projects. Ensure that design meets all established criteria and allows for proper drainage on all lots. Coordinate appropriate team members for review and comment on all plans. Interface with design engineers to assure quality of design. Maintain portfolio of standard lot grading details for each product. Conduct field review for quality control at milestone inspections and when changes are made to our standard design criteria, work with the LD team and design Lot Fits Prepare house fits for each lot showing placement of each house that fits on each lot. Review plot plans based on matrix, development, cost estimates and house fit. Review sketch plans for compatibility with product. Miscellaneous Prepare and conduct land engineering presentations when required. Review and work closely with outside engineer and developers to ensure as-builts are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Attend as needed escalated outstanding warranty calls to create solutions for customers.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering and CAD experience.
  • Working knowledge of grading and drainage design.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, in an office and in the field.
  • Bluebeam Revu
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Pdf Expert or similar software
  • KOVA software preferred
