About The Position
Civil Designer - Land Development – Washington, DC or Tysons Corner, VA We are currently seeking a Civil Designer to join our growing and dynamic Land Development and Infrastructure team in Washington, DC or Tysons Corner, VA. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative, high-energy team delivering transformational infrastructure and site development projects across the region. Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- EIT certification preferred or successful completion of the FE Exam.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; MicroStation experience is a plus.
- Experience producing site plans, construction documents, and technical reports.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to impactful, high-visibility projects that shape communities and improve quality of life.
- Interest in complex, non-standard work that involves creative problem-solving and collaboration across disciplines.
- Familiarity with land development regulations, infrastructure design, and construction practices.
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
- Curiosity and a willingness to grow in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with GIS is a plus—our team uses GIS as a tool to support integrated, data-driven design solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of civil engineers, planners, and designers to develop site civil engineering plans and specifications for a variety of land development and infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to the design and development of stormwater management systems, roadway and bicycle infrastructure, utilities, and site layout.
- Prepare construction documents, site plans, specifications, and engineering reports.
- Assist with navigating local permitting and regulatory approvals.
- Support multiple projects in varying phases, from concept through construction.
- Mentor and support junior staff with technical development and project coordination.
