Requirements

  • An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field; or Technical school certificate of completion in the data communications field including cable installation, or the equivalent military training. An additional year of specialized experience may be substituted for the required education.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a computer-related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the following areas: Installation, operation, and maintenance of Windows Infrastructure and connected devices.
  • Min Citizenship Status Required: H 1B

Responsibilities

  • Supports the designated sites assigned, the position also supports satellite offices associated with DHS. The offices include the county courthouses, sheriff’s offices, and other locations where DHS staff and contractors are located.
  • Provides in-person help desk computer/server troubleshooting support, to include investigating software related failures in addition to faulty computer components and peripherals (disk drives, motherboards, mice, printers, keyboards, etc.).
  • Provides in-person remote site coverage for other supported locations which will include all duties as outlined above for said location in the event that the individual responsible for the location is on leave or out of the office.
  • Provides desktop telephone support to other off-site staff, to include providing remote computer support/diagnosis, using DHS provided remote diagnosis tools.
  • Serves as a technical resource to other Administrators.
  • Manages, creates, and provisions accounts, permissions, and identities per DHS’ policies.
  • Manages, creates, and shares documentation and other material on processes, technical implementations, as well as modifications and changes in the environment.
  • Deploys equipment to meet the agency’s needs.
  • Configures and manages IT equipment per DHS’ standards
