About The Position
A well-established digital commerce and technology solutions company is seeking a Backend PHP Developer to support a long-term modernization initiative. This role focuses on transforming a legacy PHP application into a modern, cloud-native, microservices-based platform hosted on AWS. This position is fully onsite in Orlando, FL and requires consistent in-office collaboration. Candidates must already reside in Florida and be able to commute daily.
Requirements
- 3+ years of backend development experience with PHP
- Experience with microservices architecture and API-driven systems
- Strong AWS cloud experience
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Modernize a legacy PHP monolith into domain-driven microservices
- Design and build backend services using PHP (Symfony preferred)
- Develop and maintain RESTful, API-first integrations
- Deploy and support services using AWS (ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway)
- Containerize applications using Docker and support orchestration
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with DevOps, Product, QA, and Analytics teams
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and code reviews
