LRUHS has been named the fourth-best high school in Vermont by U.S. News & World Report and achieved a national ranking of 1,638. Rankings are based on performance on state assessments, graduation rates, and college readiness. Leadership Vision Superintendent Jacquelyn Ramsay-Tolman, in her first year of leadership at OCSU, is focused on accelerating and continuing the school's success by ensuring consistent resources, strengthening cross-departmental collaboration, and maintaining high standards for teaching and learning for all. The Principalship at LRUHS The Principal of Lake Region Union High School will serve as the instructional leader and cultural steward of the school, working closely with students, families, staff, and the broader community. The Principal will lead a team of: Dedicated faculty and support staff Collaborative administrators Engaged office and operations staff The Principal of Lake Region Union High School is expected to meet and model the highest standards for instructional leadership, aligned with the Vermont Standards for School Leaders and the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL).

Responsibilities

  • Lead a shared vision for high-quality teaching and learning grounded in equity, continuous improvement, and collective responsibility.
  • Serve as the instructional leader by supporting evidence-based practices, data-informed decision-making, and rigorous, engaging instruction for all learners.
  • Ensure inclusive practices that honor student voice, address diverse learning needs, and close opportunity gaps.
  • Develop the collective efficacy of faculty and staff through coaching, feedback, collaborative learning structures, and shared leadership.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment that supports student and staff well-being.
  • Build authentic partnerships with families and community stakeholders to support student success.
  • Model integrity, transparency, and reflective practice in all aspects of leadership.
  • Manage school operations, resources, and systems to support teaching and learning effectively.
