The Opportunity This is a full time position that works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the GES Global Engineering Services division. The Lake County Facility Operations Manager, manages the facilities and maintenance operations function, encompassing facilities management, maintenance engineering, and support services. The role leads technical and administrative teams with accountability for safe and reliable operation of buildings, utilities, machinery, and equipment, while maintaining strong focus on people leadership, budget accountability, operational execution, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance engineering, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Manages teams with focus on policy and strategy implementation and operational execution.
  • Ensures reliable operation and maintenance of buildings, facilities, utilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Leads troubleshooting activities to minimize downtime and improve asset reliability.
  • Oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Ensures facilities layouts, plant, and office spaces meet operational requirements, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Establishes and reinforces safety, compliance, and housekeeping standards across all facilities.
  • Operates within approved maintenance and facilities budgets and monitors cost effectiveness of activities.
  • Optimizes resource utilization and prioritizes spending to support business objectives.
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to systems, processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Supports short- and medium-term planning for facilities, equipment, and resources.
