As long as you are eager and willing to learn, we will provide training to teach you how to excel as a Lagger. Pipecoverers (Laggers) work with fiberglass, calcium silicate, PVC Nitrile rubber, barium sulfate, and all standard lagging coverings and provide anti-sweat, personnel protection, thermal and acoustic insulation treatments on all piping systems and major shipboard components as required by plan. Uses chicken wire and high temperature cement to provide a hard covering on some insulation materials and sews various coverings on other treatments. Able to interpret drawings and insulation schedules as necessary to complete assigned work. Work conditions may include entry into restricted and confined spaces. Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, diagrams, and perform basic layout functions. Must be willing to work road assignments and work in Radiological areas of the boat. Must be able to work all shifts. Must be available to work overtime assignments as required. Will be required to possess your own basic hand tools. Must be able to obtain and maintain as US Dept. of Defense SECRET Clearance.
