About The Position

The LAET Heavy Hauler is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of oversized, overweight, and specialized oilfield equipment to and from field locations, service centers, and customer sites. This position requires advanced driving skills, specialized load securement knowledge, and strict adherence to DOT regulations, permitting requirements, and company safety standards. The Heavy Hauler plays a critical role in supporting field operations by ensuring the timely and safe delivery of critical equipment.

Requirements

  • Maintains Class A CDL with HAZMAT with No Auto Endorsements Required.
  • Experience with Overwidth, Overweight, and Overheight Loads.
  • Can work in a team environment and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and comprehend the effort of others.
  • Ability to think and act quickly and solve problems.
  • Must stay within legal DOT Hours of Service.
  • Must be able to lift 75+ lbs. and take on laborious tasks other than driving at any time during his/her on duty rotation.
  • Must be able to operate diverse types of forklifts to load/unload trailers, if needed.
  • Work overtime, if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Pilot Vehicle Certified, TWIC, and Hand Flag Certified is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles and specialized heavy haul trailers.
  • Transport oversized, overweight, and specialized oilfield equipment in compliance with DOT regulations and permit requirements.
  • Properly load, secure, and unload equipment using chains, binders, straps, and other approved securement devices.
  • Inspect loads to ensure proper weight distribution, securement, and compliance prior to transport.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle and trailer inspections and complete required documentation.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, logistics personnel, and field supervisors regarding load requirements, routes, and delivery timelines.
  • Comply with all permit requirements, including designated routes and travel restrictions.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Identify and report vehicle maintenance needs, mechanical issues, or safety concerns.
  • Assist with staging, loading, and yard operations as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned equipment.
  • Demonstrate leadership in safety practices and operational discipline.
