The LADC Interns work within an outpatient treatment setting alongside an LADC to provide addiction treatment services. Interns will gain experience with program services and tasks that meet requirements for the 12 Core Functions including screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referrals, record keeping, and consultation. Interns will assist the LADC (Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor) in providing daily care for clients, and coordinate and provide clinical services within a therapeutic community. Interns are required to learn flexibility and effective time management practices. Interns will be educated in applying the theoretical and ethical principles of the profession in practice settings.
