Our Maternal-Child nurses have created a supportive, compassionate environment for all phases of ante- through postpartum care. We're the experienced and caring team Queens families count on for successful outcomes. Mothers and babies start their journey here with expert nurses at their side and the finest resources at their command. Our nurses specialize in a myriad of Women's and Neonatal Health areas including obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology, labor and delivery and more. You’ll work with the brightest minds in healthcare to make tomorrow better for countless human beings. Lactation Consultants are responsible for the direct provision of effective and comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families across the Maternal-Child Units. The Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is an expert in the management of the breastfeeding mother-baby dyad. They are a coach, teacher, and lactation expert. As consultants, they work collaboratively with the Providers and Nursing care teams to develop feeding plans for a range of infants from newborn to the complex neonate. This is a Full Time Day position 7:00AM to 3:15 PM , with weekend coverage at New York-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital.

Requirements

  • IBCLC Certification training course
  • Certification by IBLCE (International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners)
  • Current New York State License as a Registered Nurse

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Lactation Consultant or Specialist
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership, and teaching potential
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
