Legacy Good Samaritan features nationally renowned doctors in cancer care, kidney transplantations, neurology, ophthalmology, weight-loss surgery, robotic surgery, rehabilitation and more, plus Oregon’s only 24-hour urgent care that’s located alongside an emergency room, with access to emergency care if needed. Responsibilities The Lactation Consultant provides assessment, assistance, and support of infant nutrition, particularly breastfeeding, to infants, adult and adolescent mothers, and families. The Consultant provides education to staff and physicians, as well as to the community. The Consultant works closely with physicians and staff, and, promotes collaboration and communication. The Consultant participates effectively in the daily operations of both inpatient and outpatient care.

Requirements

  • Education: As required for certification and licensure.
  • BSN or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability of expert interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively.
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) applicable to job responsibilities/functions.
  • Licensure Current applicable Lactation Consultant state license.
  • IBCLC Certification through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLE). Recertification through IBCLE required every 5 years.
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities
