About The Position

Provides professional leadership and advanced knowledge in the practice of lactation management. Assesses patient's needs, diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention, and evaluates outcomes.

Requirements

• Education Required: Academic degree in nursing or food and nutrition
• Experience Required: Experience working with Mother Baby couplets in low and high-risk situations
• Must be currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession (such as Registered Nurse, Registered Dietitian) as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy.
• Must be certified as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
• AHA BLS.
• Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date. If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.

Responsibilities

• Conducts prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluates educational outcomes.
• Provides outpatient care, consultation, and home visits for families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties.
• Serves as consultant for physicians and other healthcare providers concerning lactation as it relates to patient's health problems.
