Organization: ABSMC-Ashby Campus Position Overview: • The Lactation Consultant is responsible for providing lactation consultation and education for breastfeeding mothers at Alta Bates Medical Center regardless of age, race, religion, ability, and economic or social status. • The Lactation Consultant has excellent assessment and implementation skills to assist the breastfeeding mother attain her individual goals. Job Description: EDUCATION Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required. BSN Preferred EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years of experience in perinatal nursing or perinatal education Preferred. Minimum two years of experience counseling breastfeeding women Preferred. Experience supporting breastfeeding in NICU preferred CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE RN-Registered Nurse of California Required BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Required IBCLC-International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Required SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Excellent communication skills Excellent maternal/infant assessment skills Ability to effectively prioritize work responsibilities Excellent documentation skills Effective teaching skills Flexibility in a changing environment Job Shift: Days Schedule: Part Time Shift Hours: 8 Days of the Week: Variable Weekend Requirements: Every other Weekend Benefits: Yes Unions: No Position Status: Non-Exempt Weekly Hours: 28 Employee Status: Regular Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans. Pay Range is $86.68 to $114.41 / hour The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required.
RN-Registered Nurse of California Required
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Required
IBCLC-International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Required
Excellent communication skills
