POSITION SUMMARY: The Lactation Consultant provides quality care related to lactation and the use of human milk to our patients and mothers using the principles of family-centered care. This position maintains a collaborative, supportive relationship with the health care team to advise on evidenced based practice related to lactation. Along with other members of a care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high standards of care provided by JHACH. Work Location: St. Petersburg, FL Work Hours: 20 hours per week (Schedule either 5p-9p Wed-Sun OR 3:30p-9p Thurs-Sun)

Requirements

• Requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
• Recognized Health Professional (Nurse, Dietitian/Nutritionist, Speech Therapist)
• Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) through International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners or Certified Lactation Counselor/Certified Lactation Educator with eligibility to take exam for IBCLC within one year of hire
• At least 1 year experience in clinical setting.
