About The Position

The Lactation Consultant integrates her expertise as educator, clinician, consultant, and researcher with the intent of promoting breastfeeding. Provides ongoing in-services for staff as well as pre- and post-natal classes for clients. Provides follow-up care by phone or outpatient basis. Must be able to communicate effectively and project a positive attitude toward clients, staff, visitors, and students. Must always conduct herself in a professional manner.

Requirements

• Must be certified as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC or CLC).
• CLC must be working on IBCLC certification and achieve it within 2 years of employment.
• Minimum of one year experience on a Maternity/Infant unit or nursery, or outpatient lactation.

Responsibilities
