Lactation Consultant - NICUDepartment: 37904 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Lactation Services Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: NICU Evening Shift 3pm-1:30am. Pay Range $33.05 - $49.60 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college/university with Bachelor's degree in Administration, Nutrition, or Nursing. Prior experience in a neonatal intensive care or pediatric unit as an IBCLC preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current IBCLC certification or eligible to sit for exam. If not currently certified, must apply to sit for the exam at the next scheduled application date. CPR certification required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides consultation in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to mothers of patients in the management of breastfeeding to promote optimal patient outcomes. 2. Educates staff and complex breastfeeding management. 3. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team in monitoring breastfeeding progress of mothers and modifying the plan of care to promote optimal outcomes. 4. Maintains breastfeeding statistics for Brenner Children's Hospital. 5. Develops policies and procedures as needed for Lactation Consultant services, breastfeeding equipment and resources and participates in performance and quality improvement activities and outcomes projects. Requirements
