If you are passionate about working with breastfeeding couplets within a supportive team environment that is valued by staff and leadership, then Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center may be the perfect place for you! We are a revenue-generating, comprehensive, inpatient lactation department that provides breastfeeding support and counseling in the antepartum and postpartum units of the Women and Babies Center, the NICU, Pediatrics, the ER, and the adult units. Our team of highly-skilled IBCLC's works with a broad spectrum of patients, many with complex diagnoses, providing evidence-based care following the most recent research to support each patient's breastfeeding goals. We are key drivers of change and actively participate in the development of policy and protocols to enhance care. If you enjoy teaching, our IBCLC's educate all new nursing staff and support a unit-based nursing-directed initiative of 'breastfeeding champions' that foster departmental change-promotion. Our unified team understands the value of maintaining a healthy work-life balance and actively supports each other though flexible scheduling so that we can 'be there' with our families when we need to.
