Primary Responsibility / Summary Operates a bobtail truck to transport goods between retail locations and designated facilities. Responsible for safely loading, securing, and unloading merchandise with minimal assistance. Maintains a high level of safety awareness, service excellence, and route efficiency.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of class C driving experience preferred .
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to work with only moderate supervision.
  • Maintains a valid California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Physically able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. and remain on feet (standing/walking) for up to 8 hours per shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish / English bilingual preferred.
  • Bobtail knowledge is preferred.
  • 1 year of Air brakes experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily vehicle inspections and completes pre- and post-trip reports using the Geotab app on a company-issued phone.
  • Follows all company safety protocols and complies with Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) regulations; promptly reports unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Loads, secures, and unloads goods in accordance with the daily Route Manifest provided by the Dispatcher, Lead, or Supervisor.
  • Completes all scheduled stops efficiently, with an average unload/reload time of 30–40 minutes per location.
  • Ensures all route-related documentation is completed accurately, including manifests and supply records; takes and submits required photographs for verification.
  • Demonstrates a professional and courteous attitude at all times; maintains a clean, well-groomed appearance and wears company-issued uniform gear (vest, gloves, and safety shoes).
  • Operates truck and equipment safely and efficiently following company policies and procedures, observing all posted road signs, traffic laws, and speed limits.
  • Maintains a valid California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Physically able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. and remain on feet (standing/walking) for up to 8 hours per shift.
