About The Position

Platinum Paving and Concrete is looking for Piper Layers to join our construction team. Pipe Layers are responsible for installing underground piping systems including water, sewer, storm drains, and gas lines, ensuring proper alignment, grade, and sealing in compliance with design specifications and safety standards. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

• High school diploma or e quival e nt pr e f e rr e d.
• Prov e n e xp e ri e nc e as a Pip e Lay e r or similar construction rol e .
• Ability to r e ad construction drawings and p e rform layout tasks.
• Familiarity with diff e r e nt pip e mat e rials and installation m e thods.
• Strong und e rstanding of job sit e saf e ty practic e s.
• Physical stamina to p e rform h e avy labor and work in vari e d outdoor conditions.

Nice To Haves

• CDL or e quipm e nt op e rator c e rtification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
• Excavate and grade trenches using hand tools or equipment.
• Align and position pipes to ensure proper slope and seal.
• Install various types of pipe (e.g., PVC, ductile iron, concrete, steel) for storm drains, water mains, and sewer systems.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using cement, glue, or welding equipment.
• Lay pipe to required depth and alignment based on plans.
• Backfill trenches and compact earth using manual or mechanical methods.
• Operate or assist with heavy equipment as needed (e.g., excavators, trenchers).
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
• Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.
