These include roadways, major civic projects, and commercial real estate. Wherever there’s pavement, there’s PRS. A laborer is responsible for performing physical labor at WCC Aggregate Pits and jobsites as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor exposed to weather elements, noise, dust and temperature extremes (hot/cold)
  • Ability to independently lift 25 – 50lbs
  • Ability to operate computer and/or other related equipment
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and wear all required personal protection equipment for the task (safety glasses/shield, hardhat, safety boots and gloves)
  • Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Must demonstrate effective decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and deal with challenges/issues
  • Must demonstrate strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
  • Proven ability to follow precise directions and procedures
  • Proven ability to adapt to an ever-changing schedules
  • Ability to absorb and retain formalized training
  • Ability to work overtime if necessary.
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight to perform work at other location
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Must have a good driving record
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Assist onsite operators with ensuring material around equipment is cleared in a timely manner
  • Perform housekeeping to ensure all sites are clear of obstructions and free of debris
  • Assist others in the pits with shoveling and moving material away from equipment
  • Loading and unloading shipments
  • Perform weed abatement as required to ensure pit “weed free” certification
  • Performs other duties as assigned
