Laborer
About The Position
This position involves performing a variety of general manual labor tasks, including lifting and moving materials, loading and unloading vehicles, and assisting with various activities. The role requires transporting materials, tools, and equipment to and within work sites. Additionally, the Laborer will participate in special projects. The primary work location is at the Crossways Blvd. in Chesapeake, VA, where duties will include inventorying shipboard installation material, unpacking and packing large boxes, moving large cable reels, cutting and forming shipboard electrical cabling, assisting with parts kitting, and supporting the Production Supervisor and shop technicians with organizing shipments and maintaining general shop cleanliness and organization.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 0+ years of related experience
- US Citizenship Required
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of general manual labor tasks including, lifting, and moving materials, loading, and unloading vehicles and other activities in a helping or assisting mode.
- Transports materials, tools, and equipment to and within work sites, as required.
- Participates in special projects, as required.
- Inventorying shipboard installation material.
- Unpacking/packing large boxes.
- Moving large cable reels.
- Cutting and forming a variety of shipboard electrical cabling.
- Assisting with parts kitting.
- Assisting the Production Supervisor and shop technicians with organizing shipments and general shop cleanliness and organization.
