About The Position

Job Summary
The Railroad Laborer supports mechanical, maintenance, and E&C field operations by performing general labor tasks necessary for the safe construction, repair, and maintenance of railroad infrastructure and equipment. This role works under direct supervision and is essential to maintaining productivity, safety, and jobsite organization.

Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as required
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Commitment to safety and compliance with railroad rules

Nice To Haves

• Prior railroad, construction, or industrial labor experience
• Familiarity with railroad environments or right-of-way work
• OSHA, FRA, or railroad safety training (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Assist crews with railroad construction, maintenance, and mechanical tasks
• Perform manual labor including lifting, digging, carrying materials, and site cleanup
• Load, unload, and stage tools, equipment, and materials
• Support track, mechanical, and signal/E&C crews as directed
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Follow all railroad safety rules, job briefings, and site-specific procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Flag, spot, or act as ground support when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or foremen
