A & Associates is looking for eager and professional candidates to work as full time Waste Recycling Laborer. NATURE OF WORK This is heavy manual labor in the collection and disposal of refuse and recyclable material, including yard trash. Employees in this class perform routine work as part of a crew in collecting garbage, refuse, recyclables, yard trash and other waste materials, and in transporting them to the designated disposal and recycling locations. Work is characterized by the necessity for considerable physical exertion and by close daily contact with unpleasant materials. Employees are expected to work out-of-doors regardless of weather. All work is closely supervised by the truck driver in charge of the crew
Requirements
- Steel Toe Boots
- Ability and willingness to work with unpleasant waste materials.
- Ability to use simple hand tools.
- Sufficient physical strength and ability to lift, move, and carry very heavy objects.
- Willingness to work under all conditions of weather.
Responsibilities
- Required to exert physical effort in handling and lifting objects up to 75 pounds most of the day – includes lifting lamp boxes to feed into machinery; pushing/pulling pallets of material, moving full drums with use of hand trucks.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs approximately 300 times during an 8-hour shift.
- Required to stand on feet the entire workday
- Required to bend at the waist to pick objects off the floor most of the day
- Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc) occasionally.
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements occasionally.
- Required to wear an air-purifying respirator most of the workday.
- Required to be subjected to biological monitoring occasionally
- Must have the ability to obtain medical clearance to wear a full-face negative pressure respirator
