About The Position

Maryland Environmental Service has an immediate opening for an entry-level full-time Laborer at the Poplar Island facility located near Tilghman Island, Maryland. Responsibilities include janitorial functions, small repairs and maintenance, grass cutting, pesticide application, operation of vehicles, use of hand tools, power mowers & other small equipment. Position requires travel to and from work on a crew vessel (boat). Additionally, this position may be required to independently complete job-related errands including picking up parts, tools, and supplies.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or GED or completion of eighth grade plus one year of warehouse, production, building maintenance, janitorial, or other general work experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with less than five points.
• Must be able to pass a standard physical exam, lift up to 50 lbs., and have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and follow oral and written instructions.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
