About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Laborer is preparing the building for events. Installation and removal of various large heavy components utilized for concerts, hockey, basketball, track and multiple other types of events. The individual responsible as part of a team of utility workers for physically lifting and building stages, seating sections, basketball courts and ice hockey rink. The individual is also responsible for the overnight cleaning of the venues. The individual must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and basic knowledge of the sports arena operations. This individual must be able to learn several tasks including operating a forklift, rigging and the use of snow removal equipment. Sweep, mop & detailed cleaning of arena seating sections. Must possess the ability to work with various operating groups and have strong communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a high level of energy and commitment with a strong attention to detail. This position requires a high degree of sensitivity to the impact the work has on the experience of athletes, performers, clients, the public and coworkers. This person must be willing to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Days off will vary based on both the event schedule and departments operational needs and may NOT be consecutive. Experience with arena ice events and ice maintenance preferred. This position includes heavy lifting. Must have the ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This Position includes Moving trash; Lifting basketball court, sports floor, portable chairs, hockey glass and dasher Operate forklifts and pallet jacks (both powered and non-powered); Lift/Carry & Push/Pull up to 75 lbs max; frequently handle up to 40 lbs Transport and assemble house stage & Boxing Ring. Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment

Requirements
