  • Work independently and with head custodians, custodians, maintenance mechanics, groundworkers, and other classifications to complete tasks.
  • Complete work orders and miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Conduct snow removal using various equipment and tools.
  • Lift and move bags of 50 lb. ice melt and treat walking surfaces with ice melt.
  • Mow and trim grass in the vicinity of the school facility.
  • Maintain grounds, conduct light landscaping, and collect trash and litter.
  • Strip, scrub, clean, buff, and burnish floors with various equipment.
  • Apply floor finish as needed.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance under supervision.
  • Perform minor repairs including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, drywall, plaster, painting, and flooring.
  • Aid in roof inspection and maintenance.
  • Use ladders, lifts, and scaffolding to accomplish tasks at heights.
  • Prepare the facility for athletic, community education, school, and public events, including setup and cleanup.
  • Move boxes, supplies, furniture, and other items using various moving equipment and tools.
  • Act as a messenger and make deliveries of packages and miscellaneous items.
  • Dust mop, sweep, and mop floors, corridors, stairwells, cafeterias, lavatories, locker-rooms, and other surfaces.
  • Clean and maintain entryways, including vacuuming entry rugs.
  • Use various chemicals for cleaning tasks.
  • Clean lavatories, locker-rooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and other building areas as assigned.
  • Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor and lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Willingness to learn and perform routine manual work.
  • Physical endurance and condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
  • Working knowledge of the maintenance and repair of buildings, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Ability to make simple repairs and adjustments to buildings and equipment.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
